Sarawak Premier Arrives In Singapore For SIEW 2025

SINGAPORE: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, arrived in Singapore on Sunday to attend the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2025 Summit.

The Premier safely touched down at Seletar Airport at approximately 4.00 p.m. local time.

He was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS), Datuk Ibrahim Baki.

Greeting the Premier upon his arrival was the Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi.

The Sarawak Premier is scheduled to deliver a keynote address titled “Advancing Sustainable Hydropower And Regional Energy Integration” at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, on Monday, 27 October.

Earlier in the day, he is scheduled to receive a courtesy call from a delegation from MASDAR to discuss collaboration on renewable energy projects.

Following his keynote speech, the Premier will be interviewed by news agency CNA and the Independent Commodity Intelligence Services (ICIS).

He is slated to depart for Kuching on Tuesday.

SIEW is an annual platform that brings together energy professionals, policymakers, and commentators to share best practices and solutions in the global energy sphere.

Organised by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore, SIEW 2025 runs from 27th to 31st October and will feature high-level keynote speeches and panel discussions focusing on the theme “Envisioning Energy Tomorrow, Building Systems Today”.

It gathers a distinguished line-up of speakers, including leaders from around the world and prominent figures in the energy sector, to share their insights and expertise.

Among those expected to attend are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Business and Industry for the Government of Sweden, Ebba Busch, Singapore Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Tan See Leng, Indonesia Vice Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly, Eddy Soeparno, and High Commissioner of the Australian High Commission, Allaster Edward Cox.

Other key events include the Singapore-IEA Forum, the Singapore-IRENA High-Level Forum, the SIEW Energy Insights, SIEW TechTable, and the SIEW Thinktank Roundtable.
