Thai energy firm adds 300 trees in Kundasang
Kundasang: The district saw the addition of 300 trees – thanks to PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) Malaysia, recently.
The programme held at the Pusat Penyelidikan Pertanian Tanah Tinggi (Highland Agricultural Research Centre) in Kundasang was also made possible in collaboration with the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
It is a key component of the ongoing Nourish Nature Nurture Future programme, which is designed to be a sustained initiative to foster environmental stewardship. PTTEP Malaysia’s Head of Brownfield Asset, Md Ezamudin Mohd Said, in his welcoming remarks said, “This tree planting event is more than just an environmental conservation effort.
“It’s a symphony of nature, growth and sustainability of natural resources coming together to create closer bonding among the local community,” he said.
PTTEP Malaysia’s “Nourish Nature, Nurture Future” programme, launched in 2023, is making significant strides with its impactful initiatives, including tree planting and e-waste recycling.
It also supports the 100 million Tree-Planting Campaign 2021-2025 initiated by the Malaysian Government.
Earlier, PTTEP Malaysia also made a donation to Sabah Parks towards conservation efforts at Kinabalu Park. PTTEP is the E&P flagship of PTT Group, Thailand’s national oil company. Currently, PTTEP has more than 50 projects globally.
