DUBAI (AsiaNewsToday) :– Malaysia has made its presence felt at the 31st Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, highlighting the nation’s newest attractions and destinations in a bid to entice more tourists from West Asia. Held at the esteemed Dubai World Trade Centre from May 6th to May 9th, 2024, this four-day event signifies Malaysia’s enduring commitment to the burgeoning West Asian market, marking its 31st year of active participation.

Led by the Honourable Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk (Dr.) Yasmin Mahmood, and accompanied by Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, Deputy Secretary General (Management) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the Malaysian contingent comprises a diverse array of 75 organizations, including hotels, resorts, travel agents, tourism product owners, and representatives from state tourism boards.

The Malaysia Pavilion serves as a focal point for engaging with Middle Eastern buyers, aiming to pique their interest by showcasing tourism products and services tailored to their specific preferences and needs. This underscores the significance accorded to West Asia as a pivotal source of tourists, particularly during the summer vacation season.

“Amidst the forthcoming launch and celebration of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, our goal is to attract more tourists from West Asia. We acknowledge the vast potential of this market, not only in terms of outbound tourism but also in trade and investment,” stated Datuk (Dr.) Yasmin Mahmood during the unveiling of the Malaysia Pavilion.

In 2024, Malaysia sets its sights on welcoming 27.3 million international tourist arrivals and generating RM102.7 billion in tourism receipts. The notable increase in visitors from the Gulf region in recent years further fuels Tourism Malaysia’s enthusiasm to nurture and expand this market segment.
