Sabah PRN: PH-GRS seat negotiations in final stage, PH-BN fully completed
PUTRAJAYA: Seat-sharing negotiations between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN) are now in the final stages.
PH Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that apart from that, negotiations between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) have been fully completed.
“I can confirm that the distribution of PH and BN seats has been completed. PH and GRS are now in the final stages and as the PH Secretary-General who has been given the responsibility, I will finalise it in the near future.
“Last week I was in Kota Kinabalu to hold negotiations. As usual, negotiations do not end with just one round. When they are finished, I will inform you,” he said at a press conference after opening the 2025 National Drug Addiction Science Symposium here today.
The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 29 as polling day for the 17th Sabah state general election, with the nomination date on Nov 15 and the early voting date on Nov 25.
Commenting on the possibility of a three-cornered clash in the election, Saifuddin Nasution described it as an early assumption that had not been properly made.
” It’s premature for me to assume that. If I said in today’s press conference that there would be three corners, it wouldn’t be pretty,” he said.
