Over 3,000 attended the Free Voice of Kukusan night

TAWAU: The ‘Laung Suara Bebas Kukusan’ night programme held yesterday recorded an attendance of more than 3,000 people, thus showing the community’s strong support for the struggle of the Kukusan Independent State Assembly (DUN) candidate, Datuk Rina Haji Jainal.

Rina said the extraordinary response showed that the people of Kukusan truly accepted the approach of independent struggle that she brought, without relying on entertainment elements or artists.

“Alhamdulillah, more than 3,000 attended. This is a very positive development even though this program was organized in a short time.”

“The people of Kukusan truly embraced the freedom struggle because they wanted to raise their voices more naturally and wanted continuous development in this area,” he told the media yesterday.

He stressed that real strength comes from the support of the people themselves, and not from external elements.

According to him, the community at the grassroots level more appreciates the presence of their representatives who are close to them, understand their needs, and prioritize the development and well-being of the area.

“We don’t need anything from outside elements to carry our campaign program. The real results are when we are with the people.”

“This is the real implication if we are truly present and with the community,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rina answered questions about the strategy of major parties bringing in artists to enliven the campaign, stating that such an approach does not necessarily determine success.

He is confident that people-based and community-friendly programs will have a deeper and longer-lasting impact.

“If the people’s full support is with us, we can achieve success without external assistance.”

“What is important is that the people feel our presence and understand the struggle we are carrying,” he said.

He also informed that last night was the last talk program before the election, and the rest would be used entirely to reach out to voters more closely through pilgrimage visits and casual meetings with the local community.

“After this, our focus is to remain close to voters, listen to their aspirations, and ensure that the voices of the people of Kukusan are heard.”

“We want voters to make choices based on their belief in the struggle for independence and continued development in this area,” he said.

Rina also expressed her gratitude for the encouraging response throughout the campaign and hoped that the momentum would translate into a high voter turnout on polling day, thus ensuring the victory of the independent candidate who carries the aspirations of the people of Kukusan.
