Its Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the seven KUSKOP agencies involved are SME Bank, Bank Rakyat, TEKUN Nasional, Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), Perbadanan Nasional Bhd (PERNAS), SME Corp Malaysia, and the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM).
“Out of the RM7.96 billion, a total of RM770.1 million was channelled to 40,797 entrepreneurs and cooperatives in Sabah, while SME Bank alone approved RM314.3 million in financing for 52 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the state,” he said.
“I hope these financing efforts will continue to expand so that more entrepreneurs and cooperatives can benefit from KUSKOP’s financing agencies,” he added.
Ewon was speaking to reporters after officiating the SME Bank Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme held here today.
He said that under the 2026 national budget, the government through KUSKOP will focus on scaling up MSME entrepreneurs, adding that the role of the ministry’s financing agencies is crucial in realising this agenda.

He commended SME Bank for its community outreach initiative, noting the importance of corporate and government-linked entities in contributing to society.
“I appreciate SME Bank’s initiative in funding this CSR programme, and I hope more corporate sectors, government-linked companies, and government agencies will come forward to assist communities in need through their respective CSR efforts,” he said.
