Gamuda meets global demand for clean energy

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s leading engineering group, Gamuda Berhad (Gamuda), is stepping forward to meet the global demand for clean energy through the development of large-scale renewable energy projects across the region.

At the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2025 taking place from 15 to 17 October 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Gamuda showcased its rapidly growing renewable energy portfolio with a project pipeline that has grown to 3 gigawatts (GW) in just three years.

The projects span Malaysia, Australia and Taiwan, marking a significant step in the company’s strategic shift towards sustainable energy infrastructure development.

Drawing on decades of expertise in construction and infrastructure, Gamuda leverages its comprehensive capabilities from civil engineering and design, project management to financial modeling.

This is to implement large-scale renewable energy solutions.

This development includes solar, wind, hydropower projects, battery storage and transmission assets, which aim to support the region’s transition towards clean energy use.

“ASEAN’s clean energy transition is a powerful economic catalyst for the region. Gamuda is committed to playing a key role by applying our comprehensive engineering and development expertise to implement the renewable and sustainable energy infrastructure that underpins this growth,” said Gamuda Engineering Managing Director, Justin Chin Jing Ho.

With ASEAN expected to contribute 25 percent of global energy demand growth by 2035, Gamuda’s regional expansion positions it well to drive that growth sustainably. The group’s participation in AEBF 2025 also reinforces its vision to be a major leader in the renewable energy landscape in Southeast Asia.
