Cash Aid Distributed to 3,293 Flood-Affected Households in Penampang

Penampang, August 9 – The official handover ceremony for the Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI) cash assistance to 3,293 heads of households (KIR) affected by last year’s floods in Penampang was officiated by Penampang Member of Parliament Datuk Ewon Benedick.

The distribution process was carried out over three days by the Penampang District Council in collaboration with UPPM Moyog, UPPM Kapayan, and the office of Kapayan State Assemblywoman Jannie Lasimbang.

“I would like to thank all parties involved for ensuring the distribution process was carried out in an orderly and responsible manner,” said Jannie Lasimbang.

“Our joint efforts helped ensure that this much-needed aid reached all eligible recipients efficiently,” she said in her Facebook posting

The initiative aims to support families recovering from the devastating floods that hit the region, providing financial relief as part of the government’s ongoing commitment to community resilience and disaster response.
